Panorex 3D Imaging

Panorex 3D Imaging is a panoramic X-ray imaging system that provides a view of the entire mouth in one image. The wraparound films allow the dentist to see all of the teeth.

It is non-invasive, safe, and beneficial for patients. It is often use to evaluate or diagnose suspected pathology such as:

  • Ectopic eruption of maxillary canines/incisors

  • Supernumerary teeth

Equipment Scanning Process
  1. Patient Positioning: The patient is positioned so that the focal trough (a specific area within the machine) matches the anatomical region of interest, which is typically the dental arches and jaws. The technician or dentist will guide the patient on how to position their head and bite correctly.

  2. Image Capture: The X-Ray machine rotates around the patient's head in a semi-circular motion while capturing images.

  3. Processing: The captured images are instantly processed to produce a panoramic image of the patient's mouth and jaw.

  4. Review: The resulting panoramic image is then reviewed by the Dentist for Diagnosis and Treatment Planning.
